Imputation
I recently preached a message on the truth of imputation. The message was titled, “The Reign of Grace: the Truth About Imputation,” using the text from Romans 5:12-21.
About a week ago, my dear friend, John Hunter (who previously pastored Sovereign Grace Baptist Church prior to my arrival), sent me a link to an incredible article orignially published through the Baptist Reformation Review in 1972 by the late Dr. E. W. Johnson (1914-2001). The article is entitled “Imputation.” Although it may not be a very popular article among many of my Federal View friends, it is an article that should be read, and its content and context considered carefully and prayerfully.
Many from our congregation have been blessed to actually hear Dr. Johnson’s preaching while he was still alive. I, on the other hand, have only had the privilege to hear recordings of the late pastor. Men whose Biblical discernment I respect have told me that Dr. Johnson was a brilliant theologian and Biblical thinker. Some of his sermons and lectures are available on SermonAudio.com and I most highly recommend them.
