“…have ye not read that which was spoken unto you by God, saying…” —Matthew 22:31
If I could have only one possession, make it the Bible. Only in its precious truth is found the testimony of Jesus Christ until He comes….
Only in its precious truth may I enjoy sweet fellowship with my Lord who saved a worm like me.
Only in its precious truth will I understand that I have enough corruption dwelling in my mortal flesh that I must cling to Christ alone for mercy.
Only in its precious truth will I find the comfort that reduces any yoke and every burden to one: that found in Christ’s easy yoke and light burden.
Only in its precious truth will I be encouraged to desire increased holiness to be pleasing to God, who seeketh such to worship Him, in spirit and in truth.
Thy Word, O Lord, is…
… hidden in my heart; my delight; my counsel; my song in the house of my pilgrimage; better unto me than thousands of gold and silver; settled in heaven; that which quickened me; my meditation all the day; sweeter than honey to my mouth; a lamp unto my feet; a light unto my path; the rejoicing of my heart; above fine gold; wonderful; very pure; the truth; everlasting; and true from the beginning.
