Jesus, My All

“That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life;” 1 John 1:1

was from the beginning…

The truth is not a series of facts strung together for us to draw conclusions concerning the world or the situations around us. The truth is a Person, the eternal God, Jesus Christ, dying upon the Cross for the sins of the world.

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John 14:6

…the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. Revelation 13:8

we have heard…

The truth is not boisterous or extravagant, but it is not silent either. The gospel without words is not the gospel.

So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Romans 10:17

we have seen with our eyes…

The truth is expressed in our mortal flesh as we submit to God’s Spirit day-by-day and moment-by-moment.

Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. James 2:17

we have looked upon…

The truth is perceived and understood from God’s perspective and not the world’s.

But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.  —1 Corinthians 2:14

our hands have handled…

The truth is embraced in love.

For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments: and His commandments are not grievous  —1 John 5:3

the Word of Life…

Jesus Christ, the living Word, speaks life, gives life, and is life.

It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.John 6:63

And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.John 10:28

I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.John 15:5
