On invitation of Pastor Ken Silva of Apprising Ministries more than four years ago, after prayerful consideration I agreed to become a contributing editor of Christian Research Network. I have had an active and passive role, both visibly and behind the scenes, throughout that time; more times off than on because of my physical ailments and primary ministry responsibilities. I have had a little more visible presence with CRN for the past few weeks so I thought that today, just two days past the twenty-fifth anniversary of my salvation by God’s grace, I’d share with the CRN readers why I am a part of that blogging network. AVATAR: Wonderland of Postmodern Idealism

This revealing statement illuminates one of many underlying ideologies being conveyed in the movie Avatar. Mankind (created in the image of God) is being portrayed as a tyrant determined to ruthlessly destroy planet Pandora for financial gain. The seductive beauty of Pandora is a carefully crafted illusion through the power of imagination and visualization, that beckons us to change our allegiance from human beings to alien beings called Na’vi. On Pandora, all things are possible, including philosophies subtly erecting “Fortresses” in our thinking, standing in opposition to the Word of God. Continue reading
